Very honoured to receive the Pastel Award at the 2021 WASA Exhibition in March for my painting "Almost Dusk". This annual exhibition celebrated 125 years of the art society, the first established in WA. The standard of work on display by local artists was outstanding. The exhibition was opened by the Governor of Western Australia, The Honorable Kim Beazley, who also presented the awards.
This pastel won First Prize in the Dry Media action of the 2021 Beverley Easter Art Exhibition. Interestingly, this was a painting I reworked during the COVID lockdown, needing to improve the perspective so that the eye more easily went back into the painting. It also helped to bring some of the objects in the front forward.
